Taste Buds Galore!

The last few weeks have been jam packed with new experiences! I’ve gobbled up carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, and apples, and looking forward to trying pears next. 😋 However, green peas are definitely on my do not eat list! 😖 I celebrated my first Pi Day and St. Patrick’s Day, attended my first OC Weekly Fresh Toast event, and my first tooth officially popped through. 😁

Last weekend, I also had my first parent free sleepover. Thank you to Nurse Molly 👧 for coming all the way up from San Diego and taking such wonderful care of me. My mom and dad were finally able to enjoy their first sleep filled night away. 😴

Sending you lots of love 💓 and wishing you all the joys of spring! 🌷

Spring has Sprung

I’m absolutely loving the warm weather, especially now that I’m feeling better! My parents even let me escape for a few stroller walks at the beach. I’m technically still hibernating until cold and flu season is over, but really enjoy being outside when possible.

I’ll be 8 months on the 12th and looking forward to my first St. Patty’s day. The luck of my Irish genes seems to run deep on both sides. I’m continuing to grow stronger and more curious each day, working on my head control, love the sound of my own voice, and recently had my first taste of real solid food (mashed potatoes). I’m also constantly drooling and sticking my fingers in my mouth (not sure if I want to be a thumb sucker like my Auntie Rachel) but haven’t seen any official teeth yet.

*Medical Update: I still see over 10 specialists regularly, have ongoing appts to adjust my helmet, and participate in weekly in-home PT and OT. I do not currently have any surgeries scheduled but will have a hand evaluation soon.

I truly appreciate all of your continuous love, support, and prayers. Sending you all my love in return. XO

It’s a Wrap!

I thought I was only doing a small cameo since I’m a frequent CHOC visitor, but low and behold I was asked to sign on for a special guest appearance! I would tell you more but they made me sign a confidentiality agreement. 🙊🙈🙉

After being on set for 13 days, I finally made it home last night. I didn’t realize how much I missed my own bed! Now that I’m going to be famous (and still recovering), the plan is to keep a low super profile until warmer weather. I need to rest up and stay healthy so I can enjoy the sunshine soon!

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers! I’m very lucky to have so many caring people near and far. 💗Happy Belated Valentine’s Day!💗

Playin’ Hookie…

…helmet hookie that is, and loving every moment! My parents are letting me live it up helmet free since my fever and I have been in a serious game of tug-of-war since Thursday. Currently, I’m coming out on top during the day but my fever always gets a second wind and pulls ahead at night.

My recovery team is still watching me closely in the PICU. I had a possible collapsed right lung and/or the onset of pneumonia. With multiple regularly scheduled breathing treatments, suction, antibiotics, and sleep, I’m finally feeling a little better. However, as of today I now have the same symptoms in my left lung. Hoping to finally catch a break and be home soon. Sweet dreams my family and friends!
